Kilconly NS is situated in a rural area in North Galway. Is named after Conleth the patron saint of the parish. Conleth is reputed to have been a follower of Beningus who founded the monastery in Kilbannon at the other end of our parish. He constructed a small church, probably of wood in the locality, hence the name Kilconly “Cill Chonla”, church of Conleth.
